The late Isiolo South Member of Parliament, Tubi Bidu MohamedIsiolo South Member of Parliament Tubi Bidu Mohamed died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
His death was confirmed by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, who announced to Parliament that the first-term lawmaker passed away at the Nairobi Hospital.
Wetang'ula said he learnt of his death with "profound deep sorrow".
“Hon Members, as we come to terms with the great loss, let us remember Hon Tubi for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him,” Wetang’ula said in his tribute.
Tubi joined Parliament after winning the Isiolo South seat on the Jubilee Party ticket in the August 2022 General Election.
During his time in the National Assembly, he served on the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining, as well as the Public Petitions Committee.
His work reflected his long-standing interest in environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Before venturing into national politics, Tubi had already made his mark at the county level.
He was the first Speaker of the Isiolo county assembly, a position he held from 2013 to 2017.
In that role, he was remembered for his diligent leadership and dedication to strengthening county institutions and championing the welfare of his people.
His passion in environmental conservation saw him spend much of his formative years in public service, juggling roles in wildlife and environmental management.
He began his career in conservation and rose through the ranks to hold senior positions in several county councils.
Between 1993 and 1996, he served as acting warden in charge of Isiolo Parks under the Isiolo county council, before being confirmed as Chief Game Warden from 2004 to 2008.
He later worked as Chief Game Warden at the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Narok county between 2009 and 2012, and later at Samburu Park under the Samburu County Council from 2012 to 2013.
His experience in wildlife conservation shaped his approach to public service, where he consistently pushed for environmental protection and responsible land use.
Education
Details about his early education are scant, but records show that he attended Isiolo Secondary School for his O’Level studies between 1971 and 1975.
He later pursued a Diploma in Wildlife Management at the College of African Wildlife Management in Moshi, Tanzania, from 1999 to 2001.
Continuing his education later in life, Tubi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Development from Gretsa University in Thika between 2015 and 2018.
Tubi Bidu Mohamed will be remembered as a committed leader who dedicated his life to public service, environmental conservation and the development of his constituency.
His journey from a wildlife warden to a county speaker and eventually to a Member of Parliament reflected a lifetime of service rooted in integrity and a genuine concern for his people.
