


The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast that most
parts of the country will remain sunny and dry between November 11 and November
17, 2025.
However, some regions are expected to experience rainfall
during the week.
According to the weekly forecast released on November 10,
rainfall will be experienced in parts of the Highlands East and West of the
Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the
South-eastern lowlands, and North-eastern Kenya.
Daytime temperatures are expected to rise above 30°C in the
Coast, North-eastern and North-western regions, as well as parts of the
South-eastern lowlands and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.
Night temperatures may drop below 10°C in some parts of the
Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley, and areas near
Mount Kilimanjaro.
In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria
Basin, and the Rift Valley—including Nandi, Kakamega, Kisii, and
Nakuru—mornings will have sunny intervals followed by afternoon showers and
thunderstorms. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy with isolated showers.
In North-western Kenya, covering Turkana and Samburu, sunny
intervals will dominate during the day, with partly cloudy nights.
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nyeri,
Kiambu, and Nairobi, will have cloudy mornings with occasional rains, followed
by sunny intervals. Afternoon and night showers are expected in a few places.
The forecast for North-eastern Kenya, including Garissa,
Wajir, and Mandera, indicates sunny days and partly cloudy nights.
There is also a chance of morning, afternoon, and night
showers in some areas. The South-eastern lowlands such as Machakos, Kitui, and
Makueni may experience morning rains and isolated afternoon or night showers.
Coastal counties like Mombasa, Kilifi, and Lamu will see
sunny intervals during the day, with possible morning and afternoon showers.
The department’s data shows Lodwar and Garissa will record
the highest daytime temperatures at 37°C, while Mandera will reach up to 38°C.
Nyahururu will record the lowest night temperature at 7°C.
Reviewing weather conditions from November 3 to 9, the
department reported heavy rainfall in several areas, including Makueni,
Garissa, Kitui, Murang’a, and Migori.
Kangema in Murang’a recorded the highest seven-day total of
98.5mm, while Mbitini in Makueni had the highest 24-hour rainfall of 70.4mm on
November 8.
Temperatures increased in most regions during the same
period. Mandera recorded the highest daily maximum temperature of 38.4°C, while
Nyahururu had the lowest minimum temperature at 6.9°C.

alongside daily and five-day forecasts for more localized updates.
