The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast that most parts of the country will remain sunny and dry between November 11 and November 17, 2025.

However, some regions are expected to experience rainfall during the week.

According to the weekly forecast released on November 10, rainfall will be experienced in parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the South-eastern lowlands, and North-eastern Kenya.

Daytime temperatures are expected to rise above 30°C in the Coast, North-eastern and North-western regions, as well as parts of the South-eastern lowlands and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.

Night temperatures may drop below 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley, and areas near Mount Kilimanjaro.

In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley—including Nandi, Kakamega, Kisii, and Nakuru—mornings will have sunny intervals followed by afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy with isolated showers.

In North-western Kenya, covering Turkana and Samburu, sunny intervals will dominate during the day, with partly cloudy nights.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nyeri, Kiambu, and Nairobi, will have cloudy mornings with occasional rains, followed by sunny intervals. Afternoon and night showers are expected in a few places.

The forecast for North-eastern Kenya, including Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera, indicates sunny days and partly cloudy nights.

There is also a chance of morning, afternoon, and night showers in some areas. The South-eastern lowlands such as Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni may experience morning rains and isolated afternoon or night showers.

Coastal counties like Mombasa, Kilifi, and Lamu will see sunny intervals during the day, with possible morning and afternoon showers.

The department’s data shows Lodwar and Garissa will record the highest daytime temperatures at 37°C, while Mandera will reach up to 38°C. Nyahururu will record the lowest night temperature at 7°C.

Reviewing weather conditions from November 3 to 9, the department reported heavy rainfall in several areas, including Makueni, Garissa, Kitui, Murang’a, and Migori.

Kangema in Murang’a recorded the highest seven-day total of 98.5mm, while Mbitini in Makueni had the highest 24-hour rainfall of 70.4mm on November 8.

Temperatures increased in most regions during the same period. Mandera recorded the highest daily maximum temperature of 38.4°C, while Nyahururu had the lowest minimum temperature at 6.9°C.

The department advised the public to use this outlook alongside daily and five-day forecasts for more localized updates.
