Detectives are investigating the murder
of a 65-year-old whose body was found outside her house in Moysatt village, Salgaa,
Nakuru County.
The body of Margaret Wambuo was found
lying unresponsive with visible injuries on the head.
A piece of wood believed to be the
murder weapon was found at the scene following the Saturday incident, police said.
The motive of the murder was not immediately
established. A similar incident had last week happened in the same area and
left an elderly couple dead.
Police are investigating the incidents.
The body was moved to the mortuary
pending an autopsy and probe.
Elsewhere, detectives
are investigating a murder in an incident where a 36-year-old man was found dead
in a family borehole in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay county.
Police said initial
reports indicated Victor Omondi died by suicide by jumping into the 30-foot-deep borehole.
But after retrieving the
body from the borehole, the team established that it had stab wounds in the head.
Other relatives
claimed the man had a fight with his wife, which resulted in the injuries and
his subsequent suicide.
However, police said there were blood stains on the beddings and floor of the house where the said fight happened.
A panga and a sisal rope were found on the bed, while a pen knife
was found on the floor.
The wife told police
the husband had sustained injuries in the fight and that he tied her on the bed with
the rope before he left the house. His body was found in the borehole hours
later.
Police said the woman
was detained for grilling into the murder incident.
In Marereni area, Kilifi County, the body of one Moris Kahindi, 28, who was missing since October 18, was found in the area.
Police said the family said he was epileptic and may have collapsed and died in a thicket after he left his home.
The matter is under
investigation, police said.
Elsewhere in Kiawara, Nyeri county, the body of
a 54-year-old man who was missing was found in a river after a suspected drowning.
Police said John
Kimani went missing on November 2, 2025, and a missing person report was made in the
area.
It was not until November 7 that the body was found on a seasonal river. It was trapped by vegetation after he was swept by raging water following heavy rains that were experienced in the area, police said.
Police said some of his personal items, including a gumboot and clothes, had been retrieved earlier along the river.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
