On Monday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission launched a new round of continuous voter registration (CVR). To many, this may appear as a routine administrative task.

But in reality, it is one of the most consequential undertakings for Kenya’s democracy – and one whose success depends not only on IEBC’s internal systems, but also on whether institutions such as our universities step up as active partners.
