The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has revised its earlier schedule for the nationwide recruitment of police constables, set to commence this Friday.

In a notice issued Tuesday, the Commission announced the addition of seven new recruitment centres across five counties and made corrections to 23 others listed in the initial advertisement.

“The National Police Service Commission wishes to inform the public of the following clarifications, additions and corrections to the designated recruitment centres,” the notice signed by Commission CEO Peter Leley reads in part.

In Kitui County, three new centres have been added-Nuu TVET grounds (Nuu subcounty), Zombe Stadium (Zombe subcounty) and Mathuki DCC grounds (Mwingi East subcounty).

Wajir has also received a new centre at Sabuli, while Tana River will now host a recruitment exercise at Kokane.

In Tharaka Nithi, Kibung’a in Tharaka West has been included, and in Meru, Thaura Secondary School in Imenti South has been designated as a centre.

The Commission also clarified several corrections spread across nine counties.

In Nairobi’s Embakasi North, the exercise will be held at Dandora Stadium on October 3, while Embakasi Central will conduct its recruitment at Huruma grounds the same day.

Other notable changes include Sirisia Sports Ground in Bungoma, which will host recruitment alongside other sub-counties such as Suba West, Kabete, Chonyi, Nzambani, Samburu and Chuka North on October 6.

On October 7, the exercise will cover Mbita, Kikuyu, Kaloleni, Lunga Lunga, Soy, Ganze and Igamba Ng’ombe. Kitui Central, Githurai, Magarini, Mutitu North, Lower Yatta and Webuye East will follow on October 8.

The exercise is expected to conclude on October 9.

The Commission stressed that apart from the stated additions and corrections, all other information in the earlier advertisement remains unchanged.

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years, hold a valid national ID, and possess a minimum KCSE grade of D+ with at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili.

They must also be physically and medically fit, with the required minimum height of 5ft 8in for men and 5ft 3in for women.

Female applicants are required not to be pregnant during recruitment and the entire training period. National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the requirements have been encouraged to apply.

Applicants are required to download and fill the prescribed application form available on the NPSC, Administration Police, DCI, National Police, and MyGov websites, or obtain copies from Huduma Centres.

On recruitment day, candidates must present themselves at their designated centres with original and copies of their academic certificates, national ID, birth certificate, and NYS discharge certificate, where applicable.

All original documents will be returned to applicants before leaving the centre.

The recruitment will run daily from 8 am to 5 pm at the designated venues.
