The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced traffic disruptions along the Bomas–Kiserian road to allow for construction works aimed at enhancing road infrastructure and ensuring long-term safety for motorists.

KeNHA, a statutory body established under the Kenya Roads Act, is mandated with the development, rehabilitation, management, and maintenance of national trunk roads.

According to the agency, the affected section stretches from Brookhouse Galleria to the area past the Catholic University of Eastern Africa junction.

The closure will enable the construction of two box culverts along the busy road.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience and delays. Suggested diversions include: Lang’ata Road – Lang’ata South Road – Kiboko Road – Banda Lane – Magadi Road and Lang’ata Road – Lang’ata South Road – Kiboko Road – Mukoma Road – Magadi Road

KeNHA further advised motorists to follow the traffic diversion plan, observe project road signs, and cooperate with police and traffic marshals stationed on-site.

“Due to scheduled roadworks for the construction of the two box culverts on the road, the closure is necessary,” said Eng. Luka Kimeli, Acting Director General of KeNHA.

The Authority noted that the disruption is essential for the successful implementation of this crucial road project, assuring the public that every effort has been made to minimize inconvenience.

Drivers have been urged to strictly follow diversion plans, observe road signage, and cooperate with officers managing traffic flow.

KeNHA assured road users that all necessary measures have been taken to minimize disruptions during the project period and emphasised that the temporary closure is critical for the timely completion of the infrastructure upgrade.
