
Detectives are
investigating an incident where a 78-year-old woman was found murdered and her
half-naked body abandoned outside a house in Machakos Town.
Police said
Esther Kadogo was an employee of Teatot Hotel and a caretaker of a farm in the
area.
She was found dead on Sunday, August 17, with visible injuries on her ear and white
substance oozing from her mouth and nose.
The assailants
escaped the scene after assaulting her, police said.
The woman lived
alone in the compound, and it is suspected that about 10 dogs that were there were
either killed or stolen by the assailants.
The police said
the dogs could not be accounted for.
A search was
mounted in the area to find the canines in vain, police said as they moved the
body to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Police said
they are yet to establish the motive of the murder and no arrest has been made.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man is
fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed and seriously wounded in
the stomach by his girlfriend in a fight in Kabete, Kiambu county.
The man was rushed to the
Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was operated on and admitted in the ICU
following the Saturday incident.
The woman behind the incident escaped the scene after calling the mother of the victim.
It is not clear what
triggered the fight, police said, adding they were looking for the woman for
grilling.
In Kapsania,
Trans Nzoia county, a woman was stabbed and seriously wounded in a domestic
fight with her boyfriend in Tafina area.
Police said the
38-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being
stabbed in the chest at her home on Saturday, August 16.
The assailant
escaped the scene soon after the attack, and efforts to trace him are ongoing,
police said.
The woman was
rushed to hospital and admitted in critical condition, while the weapon used in
the attack was also recovered at the scene.
Police said they are looking for the suspect for questioning.
