Former Chief Justice David Maraga has officially thrown his hat into the 2027 presidential race, launching his campaign under the slogan "Reset. Restore. Rebuild."

Maraga announced a three-day county tour that will kick off in Kirinyaga County on August 1, followed by Meru on August 2, and Isiolo on August 3.

The county visits mark the beginning of what he calls a people-centred campaign aimed at reclaiming the values of justice, integrity, and servant leadership.

“See you in the great counties of Kirinyaga, Meru, and Isiolo!” Maraga declared in a rallying message posted alongside his tour itinerary.

Maraga, who served as Kenya’s 14th Chief Justice and is widely remembered for his historic 2017 Supreme Court ruling that nullified a presidential election, is positioning himself as a reformist candidate focused on restoring public trust in leadership.

The tour, themed under #ThePeopleShall, is expected to be the first in a series of grassroots engagements targeting regions often overlooked in mainstream political mobilisation.

The Maraga ’27 campaign is also backed by a sleek website, davidmaraga.com, where supporters can access detailed information about his vision and upcoming events. The platform emphasises transparency, public engagement, and issue-based politics—values Maraga has consistently championed both on and off the bench.

Maraga, on July 19, officially launched his presidential campaign fundraising platform ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The Maraga '27 Campaign Platform allows Kenyans to contribute as little as Sh50 to support what he termed a people-driven movement to "Reset, Restore, and Rebuild Kenya."

The retired CJ had, in a previous interview, said he would heavily rely on ordinary Kenyans to fund his bid.

“I will appeal to Kenyans to contribute to the campaigns. I’ll put in very little money, around Sh1 million or Sh2 million. I don’t have much money,” Maraga said during an interview with Citizen TV.

The digital platform allows well-wishers to contribute by entering their name, phone number, email address, and donation amount.

Supporters may also leave an optional message.
