Detectives are investigating an incident where the body of a seven-year-old boy was found in a thicket in the Kitini area, Kambiti, Muranga County.

Police said they are investigating murder in the saga.

The decomposed body of the boy was wrapped in a piece of cloth when it was discovered on Saturday afternoon.

Police suspect the victim was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene.

The motive of the murder is yet to be established. No arrest has been made so far, but the police said they were making efforts to identify the boy.

The body was yet to be identified on Sunday and had been moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.

Elsewhere in Barwesa, Baringo County, a woman was found murdered on the roadside.

The body of the woman was found lying in a pool of blood in the Konoo area with deep cuts in the head and her right hand chopped off.

She was later identified as Pensive Samalong, 28.

Police said they recovered her broken mobile phone and bag she had.

The body was removed to Baringo County Referral Hospital, awaiting autopsy.

A suspect believed to be the boyfriend of the woman was arrested after he surrendered to the local police station.

Police said they are investigating the saga. The suspect told police they had differences that escalated to a fight that turned fatal.

Meanwhile, three suspects were arrested in Kalawa, in Mbooni, Makueni, over the brutal murder of Robinson Mumo Munyao, whose body was found Saturday with two deep cuts on the forehead.

The body of Munyao, 35, was found at Kalawa Market, off the main road, at around 6.20am.

After preliminary investigations, the three were arrested. Another man was also arrested in Ruai after he attempted to kill his wife following a domestic quarrel in the Makongo area of Kamulu, Ruai Sub-County, on Saturday.

The man is said to have hit his wife in the head, occasioning her a deep cut on the head and injuries on both arms.

The victim was rushed to Ruai Family Hospital in a serious condition.

The incident happened following a domestic fight at their home, police said.
