A delegation of women governors under the G7 banner on Monday paid a heartwarming courtesy visit to Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, celebrating the recent birth of her twin children.
The visit, held at Governor Kihika’s residence, was filled with joy and camaraderie as the leaders congratulated Kihika and her husband, businessman Sam Mburu, on their new arrivals.
The moment was marked as both a personal milestone and a symbol of the strength of women in leadership.
"Children are a blessing from God. As G7 women governors, we had the joy of visiting Governor Susan Kihika to celebrate the arrival of her beautiful babies," said Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, who led the delegation.
The governors praised Kihika for successfully balancing the demanding responsibilities of public office and motherhood.
They described her as a role model and a beacon of inspiration for many women across the country striving to manage both professional and personal lives.
"Congratulations once again, Susan and Mburu. May your little ones grow in grace, health, and wisdom from God," Waiguru added.
Governor Kihika, known for her advocacy on issues affecting women and children in Nakuru County, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and the show of support from her colleagues.
Kihika gave birth to her twins a few months ago while on maternity leave in the United States.
The G7 women governors, who have been vocal in pushing for gender equality and greater representation of women in leadership, said their visit was not only to celebrate new life but also to reaffirm their solidarity as women leaders.
Their display of sisterhood and unity highlighted the importance of supporting one another through both personal and professional milestones in public service.
