Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has stated that the government, under President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, is delivering an inclusive agenda.
This agenda, he said, leaves no Kenyan behind, regardless of region, religion or gender.
“We respect the President and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for agreeing to unite for the sake of the country’s stability and prosperity,” Kindiki said.
Kindiki praised the President’s leadership and the political truce with Raila, calling it a pillar for national unity and economic transformation.
“Under the President and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, there is now space for non-discrimination, against anyone, whether according to their gender, region or religion,” said Kindiki.
"Kenya is one. From the Coast to Western, from Turkana to Namanga, we are one country and we must stay united.”
The DP emphasised that the government is working across the country, using the phrase "Tuko Kazi Bila Break” (we are working without a break).
“We are Team Kazi Bila Break, and our commander is Rais William Ruto. We are working 24/7, January to December,” Kindiki declared.
Kindiki outlined several key government interventions in Mombasa and the coastal region, including the settlement of land disputes in Vijiweni, Likoni, the reopening of the Mtongwe ferry service and the completion of the Dongo Kundu bridge.
He also highlighted the construction of modern markets in every constituency, expansion of electricity to 15 million more households, and the ongoing investments in the blue economy, including deep-sea fishing vessels and fish ports in Shimoni, Liwatoni and Kwale.
Kindiki added that beach management units across five coastal counties have received Sh3.2 billion in grants in the last two years and that Kazi Mtaani–Climate WorX will now be extended to all 47 counties, including Mombasa.
Additionally, he hailed the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA), saying it ensures that no Kenyan will have to sell property to cover hospital bills.
“SHA is working, and it’s for everyone, whether you are employed or not. Mombasa is leading in SHA registration, and we applaud Governor Abdulswamad Nassir for that,” he said.
He also affirmed that Ruto fulfilled his campaign pledge to return port operations to Mombasa within two months of taking office.
“This is the only government that has invested billions to revive the blue economy. And those leading it, Salim Mvurya and now Hassan Joho, are from this region and understand the issues,” he added.
Kindiki praised Mining CS Ali Hassan Joho, noting that the President has instructed him to secure deep-sea fishing vessels to boost the region’s income.
Without naming names, Kindiki took the opportunity to criticise opposition leaders for pushing the “one-term” slogan against Ruto.
“The other team is focused on tribalism and dividing Kenyans. Ask them for their manifesto, and they’ll just say ‘Ruto Must Go’. Some were Deputy Presidents, Vice Presidents and Cabinet Secretaries, but have nothing to show for Mombasa,” Kindiki said.
