

Police in Thongoni, Makueni County, are investigating an incident where a 31-year-old man allegedly murdered his father by strangulation.
According to a police report, the incident occurred on the evening of May 20, 2025, and was reported at around 4:51 pm by a local resident.
The suspect, identified as John, is alleged to have killed his 76-year-old father 'X'.
Police officers who visited the scene confirmed that the deceased’s body had visible bruises on both legs, pointing to a possible struggle before death.
The scene was documented and processed for evidence.
The body was taken to Thongoni Level Four Hospital mortuary for preservation and is awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as they work to establish the motive behind the suspected patricide.
In another incident, a 30-year-old man was found dead by apparent suicide on the afternoon of May 20 at Kosovo village in Diani.
According to police reports, the deceased was discovered by his sister-in-law, Amrit Arora, at around 2:15 pm.
Arora told authorities she had left Salim at her house earlier that day, but upon returning, found his lifeless body hanging with a cotton bedsheet tied around his neck.
No suicide note was found at the scene.
However, family members revealed that Salim had recently undergone a rehabilitation process and had shown signs of emotional withdrawal and stress in the days leading up to his death.
Police officers visited and documented the scene before moving the body to Msambweni Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
In a different incident in Bungoma, a man identified as Nyongesa reported that there was a dead body that was discovered lying in a house.
Police officers visited the scene and found the body of Eliud Luyodi, who lived alone in a farmhouse tending the sugarcane farm.
The house was locked from the inside.
Police managed to open the window and gained entry and opened the door from the inside, where they found the deceased's lifeless body lying on his bed.
The scene was processed, and the body was moved to Naitiri Level 4 hospital mortuary, awaiting autopsy. The case is pending investigation.
