Popular Mugithi musician Samuel Muchoki, widely known as Samidoh, has dismissed speculation that he retired from the National Police Service.

Speaking during a meeting hosted by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in Karen on Friday, May 23, 2025, Samidoh clarified that he still actively serves as a police officer.

“I am a musician and also serve as a police officer under the National Police Service, and normally I don’t speak a lot under my boss,” he said in a light moment while introducing himself.

His statement puts to rest ongoing rumours about his departure from the service, reaffirming his dual role in both law enforcement and the music industry.

The singer raised eyebrows over his recent actions when he posted a cryptic post talking about his death while celebrating his estranged wife, Edday Nderitu, as she marked her birthday.

The post can be summarised as Samidoh saying that in case he dies before his time, he lived to the fullest, tried his best, and should be remembered as a heart that burned with a flame.

The singer later deleted the post, but screenshots of his message went viral, with many Kenyans asking questions about what is going on with the singer, with many only speculating.

A section of Kenyans linked the post to his recent performance, where a video of him asking revelers to say ‘Wantam’ as he performed has emerged. The word is used by the opposition to refer to ‘One Term’.

Interestingly, during the Karen meeting, the singer Samidoh made a brief but notable remark, uttering the phrase “two-term.”

While he did not elaborate, the comment drew attention and sparked curiosity among attendees, given the political undertones often associated with the term.
