Man, 21, found dead in suspected suicide in Rumorio village, Kisumu

A 21-year-old man was found dead by suicide on the night of March 19 in Rumorio village, Kisumu West, Kisumu County.


The incident was reported at around 10:45 pm by a local resident, John Kipkemboi.

Police officers responded and found the body of Victor Kipkosgei hanging from the roof inside his house.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Kipkosgei may have been struggling with emotional distress, possibly linked to pain and trauma from a fracture injury on his left leg, which he had been nursing.

The scene was documented, and the body was transferred to Nandi Hills Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing.


Meanwhile, in Kisumu, the body of a 25-year-old man identified as Charles Kinyanjui was found lying lifeless on the floor of his house.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 10:30 am when the man's wife, Joyce Mwoncha, reported that her husband, Charles Kinyanjui, had fallen to the floor and failed to regain consciousness.


Officers who visited the scene found the lifeless body of Kinyanjui lying on the floor of their home.

Mwoncha told police that her husband had a history of falling when intoxicated and initially assumed it was a similar episode. However, this time he did not wake up.


Preliminary observations indicated no visible injuries on the body. The scene was documented, and the body was transferred to Port Florence Hospital mortuary for preservation, pending a postmortem examination.


Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
