Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reiterated the government’s commitment to support mama mbogas, and boda boda operators across the country.
Speaking in Mawingu, Kipipiri, Nyandarua County on Thursday, Kindiki said this support will also be accorded to small-scale traders' Saccos.
He said this support is crucial in boosting their efforts in earning a living to uplift their lives.
“We will continue to empower mama mboga, boda boda and small-scale traders' saccos and other critical groups who are at the grassroots because it is critical to boost their efforts in order to uplift their livelihoods.
“For the small-scale traders, empowerment is important as it will go a long way in rejigging their businesses, aiding expansion to improve returns on their businesses,” Kindiki said.
He had attended a bottom-up economic empowerment forum in Nyandarua County.
The Deputy President stated that this is the bottom-up empowerment the Kenya Kwanza administration is after even as they work hard towards fulfilling what they promised the people during campaigns.
He further assured residents that the government will look into the pending title deeds issues as requested by the residents.
Kindiki added that the government, under the leadership of President William Ruto is working day and night to change the lives of Kenyans for the better.
“We will find a solution to the pending title deeds issue for colonial villages in Nyandarua County because it is an issue we must solve as requested by residents.
“We have stabilised the economy, and now it's time to work. We are working every day to uplift the lives of the people.”
The DP added that the government is also constructing a modern market in Wanjohi, Kipipiri, and that the tender for the works has already been issued for a new market in Mawingu area.
He also promised that the government will complete Geta-Ndunyu Njeru and other stalled roads in Nyandarua before the next elections in 2027.
