Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji has alleged that social media influencer Billy Mwangi was subjected to physical torture.
Billy was found alive on Monday after missing for two weeks.
Mukunji who was addressing the press in Embu claimed Billy was locked up in a dark room, whipped and given little meals by his abductors.
He did not, however, state where he was being held.
“Preliminary report is that the young man is seriously traumatised, he has been whipped. When we were enjoying the Christmas holidays the young man was locked in an unknown place and he does not know that place,” he said.
Billy was abducted on December 21 last year.
While condemning the emerging cases of abductions in the country, Mukunji called for an end to it.
"Let Billy be the last person to go through the ordeal that he has gone through. Let his parents be the last people who have gone through that ordeal,” the MP said.
He also vowed to look into ways of amending laws to ensure the safety of Kenyans is safeguarded.
The abduction of Billy, Mukunji claimed, was an attempt to instill fears in government critics as “no formal charges have been leveled against him.”
Billy alongside Peter Muteti, Bernard Kavuli and Rony Kiplangat who were also missing were freed Monday morning.
His father, Gerald Karicha, said their son arrived home at around 8 am.
“Our child has returned home. He is very much okay,” he said in an interview as he thanked Kenyans for their prayers.
"We also want to thank God for answering our prayers,” he added.
The National Police Service has said it is investigating the cases as it appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing information that might be helpful in the process.
“The National Police Service remains committed to ensuring that all these matters are thoroughly investigated to their logical conclusion,” NPS said ina statement.
