Attorney General Justin Muturi has refuted claims by a local daily that President William Ruto does not consult him, despite being the State's chief adviser.

In a statement on Thursday, Muturi termed the report attributed to him as false.

"As a former lawmaker and former speaker of the National Assembly, I uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency," he said.

"The misquotations in the article are misleading to the Kenyan public and undermine these principles."

Muturi said the media must be responsible and accurate in their reporting at all times.

He went on to say that he will pursue legal channels to have the daily make a correct public statement on the matter.

"It is imperative that the media maintain accuracy and responsibility in their reporting to ensure that the truth is upheld."

The Daily claimed that the AG told them that his input was not being sought on key legal issues.
