Rachel Ruto launches Mazingira Award to celebrate conservation

First Lady Rachael Ruto on Thursday launched the First Lady Mazingira Award in a bid to conserve climate.

The award recognises and rewards environmental protection and conservation through creativity.

It targets learners in more than 89,000 schools in all 47 counties of Kenya to create a generation of environmentally conscious citizens.

Mama Rachel Ruto stressed the importance of providing a platform for young people to voice their opinions and solutions to climate change.

This comes after the just-concluded Africa Climate Summit held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi.

Among key issues discussed at the forum were how to tackle the increased exposure of emitters, investing in nature and biodiversity, solutions to climate change, and climate change financing for Africa.
