ODM leader Raila Odinga on Sunday held talks with US senator for Delaware Chris Coons.
Coons is credited for the Handshake deal between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila in 2018.
Raila confirmed his meeting with Coons in a statement on Twitter.
Coons jetted into the country on Saturday.
"It was a great pleasure as usual to meet and exchange notes with my friend Senator Chris Coons. An afternoon well spent," Raila tweeted.
The meeting with Raila comes a day before the official commencement of the bi-partisan talks on Monday.
Azimio La Umoja and Kenya Kwanza have appointed five members each to the bi-partisan talks team.
Both teams have also appointed four members each to the technical committee that will draft a roadmap for the talks.
A source told the Star that Coons will be at State House on Monday morning for talks with President William Ruto.
