Coffee entrepreneur and founder of Kahawa 1893 Margaret Nyamumbo is all smiles after she bagged Sh44 million investment from an investor at a TV show Shark Tank.

The New-York based Kenyan entrepreneur excited investors on the TV show with her presentation.

Nyamumbo was seeking Sh44 million (350,000 USD) for 5 % of her Kahawa 1893 coffee company.

She got the attention of British businesswoman, co-founder, and CEO of Good American Emma Grede who partnered with her.

On Sunday, the entrepreneur took to Twitter to confirm her win saying she made it.

"We did it! We got a deal," she said.

In her presentation, Nyamumbo praised her coffee company as the best in the world.

Nyamumbo added that she intends to give equal and substantial compensation to coffee farmers, especially women.

She said that she grew up in her grandfather's coffee farm in Kenya.

Nyamumbo said that the lack of compensation for coffee farmers is what made her look for ways to fulfill that.

"We are very proud of the coffee that grows on our soil, unfortunately, farmers don’t always make enough for the delicious coffee that they produce," she said.

"In fact, 90 percent of the labour and coffee come from women but so many are not compensated because they do not own the land that's why I created a new way to compensate the coffee farmers."
