Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has called on witnesses to come out and contact officers over the alleged raid at former CS Fred Matiang’i's home.

Speaking on Thursday, Kindiki said that the complaints should report to any police station for investigations.

“Any person with information relating to the alleged incident at Dr Matiang’i’s home last night is advised to file a formal complaint at the nearest police station for investigations and appropriate action,” he said.

It is alleged that police on Wednesday night raided former Matiang'i's home in Nairobi.

Elite police officers are said to have arrived and surrounded his Karen home to arrest him for unspecified reasons.

However, CS Kindiki has dismissed claims of police involvement in the alleged raid.

Kindiki who is in Baringo said that he had received media reports and inquiries on Thursday about an alleged invasion of the home of his predecessor by some unidentified persons last night.

Matiang’i’s lawyers and some politicians who spoke from the scene alleged that the said persons were police officers sent to arrest the former CS.

“This allegation is utterly false. No police officer(s) or any security agent from any government institution or department was dispatched to the home of Dr Matiang’i to arrest, harass or otherwise interfere with his Constitutional rights in any manner whatsoever,” Kindiki said.

He said none of the enforcement agencies was at the former CS’s house.

“I have confirmed with the command of the National Police Service, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Kenya Revenue Authority and all law enforcement agencies that none of them has any orders to look for the former minister,” he said.

The CS said Kenya’s security agencies remain apolitical and focused on addressing the security challenges that the nation is facing.
