Jubilee vice chairman David Murathe, Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli and Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo have been summoned by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

They are expected to present themselves at Integrity Centre where they will record a statement.

The three have been summoned over an inquiry into a Sh200 million land saga in Nairobi.

They are accused of receiving the money through a farm associated with Jirongo.

The farm received the money from Nairobi City County as compensation of a land it claimed in Mukuru slums. But an investigation by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission found out the land in question belonged to a primary school and dispensary.

“Those who claimed the money as compensation did not have even a title deed to warrant being paid,” said an official aware of the probe.

And after the farm associated to Jirongo received the money, it is said to have sent some of it to Atwoli and Murathe.

It is the reasons the agency wants the two to explain. Atwoli is currently out of the country.

On his part, Atwoli said he had been asked to explain why he received the money that was seen to be illegal compensation.

The farm is said to have demanded to be compensated and received more than Sh200 million.
