The National Police Service Commission is scheduled to interview five candidates for the position of Deputy Inspector General.
The position will now be filled after eight months of wait since the .
The interviews will be conducted on Friday at the NPSC's Sky Park plaza offices boardroom from 8am to 3pm.
Members of public have been invited to provide any information of interest to the commission about the candidates.
Joel Kitili, currently acting in the place of Kaindi, and the deputy directorate of Criminal Investigations Joseph Ashimala are the top contenders in the race.
Former CID boss Gideon Kimilu, Mary Kaol and Judy Lamet will also fight it out for the job.
Kaol is scheduled to retire from the police service soon.
Lamet hails from Rift Valley, the same region as the current IG Joseph Boinett.
The vetting board that advised for the removal of Kimilu is the one that will yet again interview him.
The NPSC invited applicants for the position on September 26, 2015 and received five letters.
The candidates will be required to present original IDs, academic certificates, any other supporting documents and testimonials, tax clearance certificates from Kenya Revenue Authority and clearances from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Higher Education Loans Board, CID and the Credit Reference Bureau.
