President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki have donated Sh10 million to the family of late singer Betty Bayo.

The donation was made on November 20, the same day Bayo was buried.

The donation will go towards supporting Betty Bayo’s children.

Speaking during the funeral in Kiambu, Deputy President Kiture Kindiki stated that together with his wife and family, they would contribute Sh5 million.

Kindiki also stated that while on his way to Kiambu, he spoke to President William Ruto, who sent him with Sh5 million.

“I will help Betty’s children with Sh5 million. President Ruto has also sent me here with Sh5 million to support the children’s education,” he said.

“Send me the account number I will send the money to the family. May God bless you, bless your businesses, bless your farms, bless your families and bless everything that you own."

The donation by Kindiki and Ruto comes days after former President Uhuru Kenyatta donated Sh1 million to help with the funeral arrangements and to honour Betty Bayo's life and ministry.

In his message, Uhuru mourned Betty as 'an extraordinary minister of the gospel whose music uplifted countless hearts and inspired hope across the nation.’

He celebrated her dedication and contribution to gospel music and the strength of her faith.

“Betty’s legacy will endure through her children, her music, and the many lives she touched,”  he said.
