VOICE OF THE PEOPLE: Radio Africa Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo and Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe yesterday.

Radio Africa Group will launch the company's Kikuyu radio station on March 5

during the Senators' Golf Day in Nyeri county, growing its radio stations to six.

CEO Patrick Quarcoo made the remarks in his office yesterday when he presented a Sh200,000 to Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe towards the purchase of gifts for the golf challenge.

“The new radio station is good news to the people and we look forward to the event which brings more investment and opportunities to the county,” Kagwe said.

The station will be broadcast from Nyeri and will cover the neighbouring counties.

Radio Africa has been on a digital expansion plan from 2014 when it unveiled a digital network platform via a free-to-view service known as Bamba TV, making it the first team of local broadcasters to embrace digital migration head-on.

The company

has dominated the Kenyan radio scene over the past 14 years and made an indelible mark on the newspaper scene with the Star.

Besides Bamba TV, its stable boasts most-listened-to stations, including Classic 105, Kiss 100, Radio Jambo, 105.5 Xfm and Jambo Turkana. It also owns two TV stations – Kiss TV

and Shine TV.
