Thieves on Wednesday released bees on police who had gone to arrest them at Webuye Pan-Paper Mill.More than 10 thieves were trying to steal scrap metal and had carried the bees in a sack. They released the swarm and fled into the forest.The police were forced to retreat. One officer was seriously stung and treated at Webuye District Hospital.
