Music fans turned up in large numbers at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Sunday for the first edition of this year's Safaricom Groove Tour concert.

The line-up comprised both upcoming and well-established artistes. Some of those who performed include siblings Rufftone and Daddy Owen who campaigned for votes in various Groove Awards categories they were nominated in.

Man Ingwe was a crowd favourite as he performed his hit Ugali Sosa and so was the Sifa Voices choir that kicked off the concert with their own version of popular South African song Y-tjuktja.

Other artistes who performed include JFam, DK Kwenye Beat, Florence Andenyi, Pamela Wandera and Geoffrey Kwatemba.

This year, Groove Awards has introduced a new platform— Gifted to Groove — which seeks to provide mentorship for upcoming gospel talents by the established artistes.
