President William Ruto on Saturday joined other leaders in sending off late Namibian President Hage Geingob.
Condoling the family and citizens of Namibia, he assured them of Kenya's support during the grieving season.
He acknowledged that Africa has lost a progressive leader, describing Geingob as a man whose powerful voice for a more united continent will never peter out.
"President Hage Geingob was a celebrated leader who served the people of Namibia with diligence. Rest In Peace," he said.
Leaders present included Presidents Frank-Walter Steinmeier (Germany), Samia Suluhu (Tanzania), Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia), Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zimbabwe) and João Lourenço (Angola).
Others were Mokgweetsi Masisi (Bostwana), Filipe Nyusi (Mozambique) and Madagascar Prime Minister Christian Louis Ntsay.
AUC chairperson Moussa Faki and former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete were also in attendance.
A total of 18 heads of state and an additional 27 countries sent delegations to the service.
These included the United States of America’s Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland and Ambassador Randy Berry, China’s special envoy and vice chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Jiang Zuojun, and a delegation from Algeria led by the president of People’s National Assembly of Algeria Brahim Boughali.
Geingob, 82, surrounded by his wife, Madame Monica Geingos, and children, succumbed to his battle with cancer early this month.
