Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Mondaay made a key address at the Regional Conference of Security and Intelligence in Mombasa.

The event attracted security Chiefs from 15 Greater Eastern Africa Countries.

Giving his closing remarks, CS Kindiki emphasized that there was a need for a Multiagency approach in individual Countries and Trans boundary collaboration in the region.

"The Region faces security-shared threats and requires common responses to effectively tackle current and emerging trans-boundary crimes like terrorism, human trafficking, narcotics, and transnational organized crime," he said.

The Mashariki Cooperation Conference brought together Intelligence and Security Chiefs from Kenya, Burundi, Comoros, DRC, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Seychelles, Tanzania and Uganda.
