

Police in Vihiga have arrested a man believed to be linked
to criminal gangs operating in the Esirulo area.
The suspect was intercepted by officers from Emuhaya Police
Station during patrols in Emuhaya Sub-County at about 2:30am on Friday.
He was reportedly armed with a machete at the time of
arrest.
A follow-up raid on his house in Ikaliha Village led to the
recovery of several items suspected to be stolen property.
The items included four machetes, a sword, a kitchen knife,
two balaclavas, military boots, a gas cylinder, school set books and a Sony
radio.
The suspect is in custody pending arraignment, while the
exhibits have been secured as evidence.
The National Police Service commended the officers involved
and vowed to continue operations to dismantle criminal gangs across the
country.
