Uasin Gishu Governor Dr.
Jonathan Bii says he has so far initiated 825 new projects in the county within
the last two years.
Bii says work on most of
the projects is going on smoothly, with the county having completed 128 out of
332 water projects in the region.
“I can confidently say
that I am on course to implement my Nguzo Kumi (ten-point) agenda for this
county, which covers all sectors,” said Bii.
The governor said the
projects were aimed at transforming the economy in the region and hence
uplifting the lives of residents.
He said his scorecard was
sound and that he would use county resources to ensure residents of Uasin Gishu
fully benefit from devolution.
The governor said
positive change had been achieved in key sectors including agriculture and
cooperatives.
“We are supporting our
farmers to venture into growing high-value crops like coffee and also join
cooperatives,” said Bii.
He was speaking in Karuna
Meibeki Ward, where he commissioned several water projects developed by the
county to benefit residents.
Governor Jonathan Bii with his deputy Deputy Evans Kapkea.
He was with Deputy
Governor Evans Kapkea, County Executive for Water Anthony Sitienei, and area

Bii said the water supply
would be useful to support modern farming through irrigation and cultivation of
high-value crops.
“We are also focusing on
ensuring that our people have access to clean water for use in their homes,”
said Bii.
The governor called on
residents to support his administration and also President William Ruto to
secure a second term because of his good performance.
“Let’s ensure it’s two
terms for the President and also two terms for me so that we can complete all
the programmes we have initiated,” said Bii.
He said the projects he
had initiated were located in all the 30 wards in the county, with successes
also recorded in the education and other sectors.
