Set within the Hub Karen Mall, The Hub Park—East Africa’s largest indoor family entertainment centre—celebrated its first anniversary on Saturday with a blend of excitement and exclusive offers.

The facility has rapidly established itself as a premier destination for families, offering a delightful and vibrant escape for parents and children alike in a family-friendly environment.

The park, spanning 3,200 square metres, can host up to 410 people inside its attractions at once.

The anniversary event served as a testament to this success.

JCG chairperson Margaret Mbaka reflected on the journey, saying they envisioned a place of community engagement.

“Celebrating the first anniversary of The Hub Park is a proud moment for us and a testament to the vision we set out to achieve—creating a vibrant, inclusive space where children, families and the wider community can learn, play and connect.

“What began as an investment in enriching the mall experience has grown into a dynamic hub of activity that serves families, schools and even corporate groups in ways that have exceeded our expectations,” Mbaka said.

The anniversary celebration was a smashing success, featuring free events such as puppet shows, face painting, fussball matches for the introverts and the popular 360-degree camera experience.

Traditional dancers punctuated events, keeping the atmosphere upbeat, while mascots pulled giggles and squeals of delightful out of the little guests.

It also ushered in new promotions: a loyalty programme, Buy-One-Get-One-Free Thursdays and a 25 per cent Toddler Tuesday discount.

Thanking the parents, visitors and partners who have supported the establishment, The Hub Karen Mall manager Jacobus Visser was optimistic of “more years of shared memories and continued success together”.

“Celebrating the first anniversary of Hub Park is a proud moment for our entire mall community. When we launched the park, our vision was to create a safe, fun and inspiring space where families could play, relax and connect,” Visser said.

“Over the past year, Hub Park has truly become the heartbeat of our mall—bringing joy to children, drawing more families through our doors and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout The Hub Karen."

What sets The Hub Park apart is its array of unique attractions, many of which are exclusive to Nairobi's locale.

Designed for year-round use, the park provides flexible spaces for leisure visits, organised group outings, school excursions, birthday parties and other celebrations, to cater to diverse age groups.

One of its greatest attractions-likely the centrepiece-is the Aerial Glider, Kenya’s first, where adrenaline-high guests glide across the park for an aerial view experience.

Other attractions include an air park—an inflatable wonderland with a leaderboard, leisure climb walls, a tag arena, a net maze, trampolines and dedicated toddler soft play areas.

As with indoor arenas, guests are reminded to bring socks for the indoor activities, but the facility has grip socks within reach available for purchase.

Additional conveniences—including themed party rooms, baby-changing areas and on-site dining options, enhance the guests’ experience.

The facility provides flexible spaces for group outings and birthdays, offering various attraction passes, including the Explorer, Thrill-Seeker, Adventure Delight and the Ultimate Pass for unlimited access. Integrated with restaurants, the facility makes it easier for adults to keep their little ones fuelled for more adventure.

Towards evening, several outdoor performances kept guests hooked. Ghetto Classics rolled out jazzy tunes while chorale performances and a show by artist Njerae kept attendees crooning, ushering in the event finale: the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

The broader Hub Karen mall provides diverse dining and shopping opportunities. Positive guest feedback praised the variety of activities, cleanliness and the staff's professionalism, describing their experiences as “worth a visit”.

Operating daily from 9 am to 9 pm, The Hub Park is proving to live by its motto, ‘Where fun meets adventure’, bringing a variety of wholesome experiences under one roof.
