The high court in Eldoret has denied bail to administration policewoman Lilian Biwott who is charged with shooting her husband last month.
Justice Reuben Nyakundi said he agreed with the views of victims in the case who opposed the bail because if released there was a possibility of the suspect interfering with witneses.
He said some of the victims were possible witneses yet the prosecution did not respond to affidavits filed by some of the victims.
"I have denied you bail because I have looked at the law carefully and it provides for the rights of victims which must be protected," Nyakundi said.
He directed that the suspect remain in custody for the time being as the hearing of the case continues.
Lilian is accused of killing her husband Victor Kipchumba on October 9, at Kimumu in Eldoret town.
Her lawyer Oscar Oduor had applied for the suspect to be released on bond.
State Council David Fedha had told the court that the state was not opposed to her bail
