Nigerian business management platform Bumpa has entered the Kenyan market, seeking to help small businesses streamline operations, manage sales and grow through digital tools.
The company, which describes itself as a leading business management platform for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in West Africa, announced that its services are now available to Kenyan merchants through its mobile application and web platform.
The platform enables businesses to record both online and offline sales, launch online storefronts, communicate with customers and collect payments through M-Pesa.
Bumpa Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Umechukwu said Kenya was a strategic market for the company as it expands its footprint across East Africa.
“We are extremely excited to be launching in the Kenyan market. Kenya is a key market and a launchpad for us into East Africa. We are looking forward to serving Kenyan businesses by enabling them to manage their operations better, which ultimately leads to growth,” said Umechukwu.
The company says its platform is designed to automate business processes and provide entrepreneurs with tools that can help improve efficiency and decision-making.
According to Umechukwu, digital business management tools have been shown to support business growth by reducing administrative workloads and providing access to critical business insights.
“Business management software such as ours has been shown to help businesses grow because they allow one to manage a business smarter, access important business analytics, and free up an entrepreneur from administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on other areas of the business. That is at the heart of what we want to achieve in Kenya, to help small businesses grow,” he said.
Bumpa, which is known in Nigeria as the “King of Social Commerce”, is also targeting businesses that sell products and services through social media platforms.
The company revealed plans to integrate its platform with Meta, a move that will allow businesses selling on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to manage customer interactions more efficiently.
“Social and conversational commerce is a common way of doing business in Kenya and most of Africa, and we are integrating our platform with Meta to make it easier for businesses that sell on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to receive messages from those platforms directly on Bumpa. This feature and more will be available soon,” said Umechukwu.
Once rolled out, the integration will enable users to receive Instagram and Facebook direct messages on the platform, share products, send invoices and request payments directly through Bumpa.
The company's entry comes as social commerce continues to gain traction in Kenya, where millions of users engage with businesses through Meta-owned platforms.
