Kwale-based SS Assad has been relegated from the FKF National Super League (NSL). The club will now feature in the FKF Division One zone ‘A’ in the 2025/26 season after five years in the second-tier league. SS Assad’s chances of surviving relegation are almost impossible with two games to go.

They are 10 points away from safety with two games in hand. Their fate was sealed on Sunday following their 1-0 loss against Mombasa Stars at Ukunda showground.

SS Assad sits 18th on the log with 22 points and will now join Muhoroni Youth, who were relegated due to match-fixing allegations.

Another coast-based side, Mombasa Stars, is also facing imminent relegation. They are 17th on the table, 32 points behind 16th-placed Migori Youth.

Migori Youth have a better goal difference. Already, Kabati Youth FC and Soy United have been promoted to the NSL. In the FKF Premier League promotion push, Administration Police Service (APS) Bomet remain favourite to seal the second automatic qualification slot.

Already, Nairobi United have been promoted to the top-tier league. APS sit second on the log despite having their weekend game against Kibera Black Stars abandoned.

The game was abandoned due to chaos after APS scored an equaliser in the game that was played at Jamhuri Grounds in Nairobi.

APS now need one game to seal qualification. They host Nzoia Sugar on Sunday at Bomet Stadium.

“We are on course. We are now focused on the game against Nzoia and want to win the game and qualify for the Premier League,” said the APS coach.

APS Bomet have 58 points with three games to go. Nairobi United lead the log with 66 points. Fortune Sacco climbed to third on the table after a 5-1 thumping of Mombasa United.

They have 54 points, followed by Naivas with 53 points same as Darajani Gogo.

The three clubs remain in the hunt for a promotion and relegation play-off slot.
