Nairobi City Thunder have few injuries to cope with as they take on Africa Nazarene University today in a Kenya National Basketball League clash at the varsity Rongai gymnasium.

This will be the last regular season game for the unbeaten Thunder, who have bagged a maximum of 42 points from their 21 games played.

They picked up the injuries during the Eliud Owalo Foundation-sponsored event which they won.

"Finishing the regular season undefeated is a nice accomplishment. Overall, we are now much more focused on being prepared physically and mentally for the playoffs," offered coach Brad Ibs.

ANU Wolfpacks coach Mike Oluoch said they have prepared well and his boys will give Thunder a run for their money, adding the match promises to be a thriller.

"It will be a tough game and I believe we are up to the task. Thunder are a shooting team and so we will have to move and slide a lot, contest every shot and box them out from the rebounds," said Oluoch.

On Monday, former national champions Ulinzi Warriors managed a close 59-57 victory against Eldonet Platinum in a match played at Ulinzi Sports Complex, Langata.

"We did our best and were on course for an upset but we committed late turnovers in the last quarter that cost us the game," said the losers' guard Renny Moibi.

"This was our last game. We remain hopeful we will secure a play-off spot but we must wait for results involving other teams to be sure."

Collins Muliro hit the winning points from the free-throw line. Stephen Simiyu shot 24 points. Eldonet’s Meshack  Oloo made his team's opening 15 and ended up with 28.

In the lower division, Jeff Onyango tallied 27 points, Wycliffe Rayasi (15) and Tony Njwe (10) as Moischers defeated Cabals Elitist 69-61 in Menengai High School, Nakuru.

And in matches played in Kisumu, Safe Spaces had 22 points from Lynette Atieno and 13 from Mercy Ojiambo as they whitewashed Swift 81-31.

The Bungoma-based Swift suffered another harrowing defeat as they were thumped 53-36 by national schools' champions Butere Girls High.

Home side Urbanville were also in winning moods as they torched Nebulus of Kakamega 58-36.
