Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hit out at the officials who had given their speech at Uhuru Park using the State podium.
This happened at Uhuru Park during the flag-off of Community Health Promoters kits to counties.
Gachagua termed it a serious breach of protocol but said he would pardon those involved since it was President William Ruto who had invited them to speak from the podium.
Gachagua who decided to use another microphone to address the audience said he had opted to decline the invitation to breach protocol.
"I have chosen to speak from here because there has been a serious breach of protocol. The state podium is reserved for the head of State but I want to exonerate all those who have spoken there because it is the President himself who invited them to speak from there and breached protocol," Gachagua said.
"Those of us who work around the President have a very task of overseeing the transformation of a hustler into a President,
"That is why the President is breaching protocol because the hustler nation propelled one of them to the State House. It is very difficult to get the hustler out of him and that is why he is very comfortable to use the state podium."
Some of those who used the podium include the Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, CoG health committee chair Muthomi Njuki his National Assembly and Senate counterparts Robert Pukose and Jackson Mandagor, CoG chair Anne Waiguru, representatives from Unicef and other partners and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha.
