Sofapaka head coach Francis Haringingo has dispatched a warning shot ahead of Sunday's match against Posta Rangers at Moi Stadium, Kasarani.

Top-tier action resumes after a week-long Fifa calendar window that began on September 4 with the pair flexing muscles in one of the nine matches scheduled for the weekend.

On Wednesday, Haringingo stated their intention to take down the mailmen, who have had an excellent start to the season.

The Rwandan gaffer said they leveraged on the Fifa break to smooth out the rough edges that jolted their campaign in their opening fixtures against Gor Mahia and Bandari.

Sofapaka began their season with a one-all draw against defending champions Gor Mahia at Moi Stadium, Kasarani, before losing 1-0 to Bandari at Kasarani Annex a week later.

“The Fifa break was a blessing to us. It allowed us to rectify the few mistakes we made in our opening fixtures against Gor and Bandari," Haringingo remarked.

Haringingo urged their ardent fanbase to throng the stands on Sunday and roar them on.

"I can assure you we have prepared well for our next opponents in the competition and we are asking our fans to attend the match in large numbers in a show of solidarity,” Haringingo stated.

"We have a new technical bench and a dozen fresh acquisitions and I'm happy that we have managed to get our house in order in the shortest time possible."

Haringingo said he believed their newly acquired midfield maestro Humphrey Mieno, who joined from Tusker on a year-long contract, will prove to be an invaluable asset for the side in their current campaign.

Mieno, 33, came on board as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with the Ruaraka-based brewers.

He returns to Sofapaka for the third time, having previously plied trade for the club 2011 and 2014.

Mieno pledged to make a big statement in his debut against Posta on Sunday.

"I'm ready for the new challenge. I believe things will work out for us if we play according to the instructions we get from our coaches,” Mieno said.

“We have the potential to clinch the title this season. The club has bolstered the squad with some gifted players and a technical bench that is thirsty for success, so we are up to the task."

"All we need to do is to take each game at a time and ensure we grab maximum points."
