League leaders Nairobi City Thunder confront United States International University in a top Kenya National League encounter at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday.

Assistant coach Sadat Gaya said the early pace-setters will have their arsenal ready for the assignment. They have won all their 13 league games.

“We will have our national team players for the second weekend and we expect to clean up some areas identified last weekend even though we won,” Gaya noted.

“It was an interesting match against USIU in the first leg but we need to improve on our performance from back then.”

His counterpart, David Maina, said they are well prepared and ready to play the best team in the league.

“They have the experience but we will show up for a fight. We don’t have any injuries and it will be good to see how much progress the team has made since promotion,” said Maina.

USIU Flames, with the evergreen Hilda Luvandwa back to the side, tackle Storms in a women’s match.

The varsity side’s tactician, George Mayienga, said they are capable of taking maximum points if they cut down on their turnovers.

“We had a lot of turnovers in our loss against Zetech Sparks last weekend. We must cut on that if we are to get a result against Storms, a tricky team to play,” said Mayienga.

National champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) hope to keep their unbeaten run intact when they take on Strathmore University Swords.

With the addition of Congolese Grace Ilebu to the already star-studded side, the Porters remain the team to beat once again.

Kenya Morans captain Victor Bosire and Moses Wanjara lead Equity Bank Dumas against Umoja, who are struggling for grip.

On Sunday, Storms play Africa Nazarene University (ANU) in a game that looks well-balanced and can go either way.

Strathmore University Blades coach has warned his boys to be wary of ABSA, whom he described as a dangerous outfit.

“I want to maintain the mental strength and urge the boys to be wary of Absa threat. They have some solid players and we must improve on our scoring,” he said.
