All roads lead to Ulinzi Sports Complex, Langata as Nairobi City Thunder tackle Equity Bank Dumas in a tough Eliud Owalo Foundation inaugural top-of-the-bill clash.

This epic match-up tips off at 5 pm and will be preceded by another rough tie, pitting league champions Kenya Ports Authority against Ulinzi Warriors.

Thunder’s national team quartet of Griffin Ligare, Albert Odero, Ariel Ortega and Faheem Juma will provide the much-needed tonic for the team.

“It will be a great opportunity for us to fine-tune our play as we look towards the playoffs. We’re hoping to see basketball fans out in full force,” said Thunder coach Brad Ibs. The bankers on the other hand will rely on the backcourt efforts of another Morans trio of captain Victor Bosire, Eugene Adera and Victor Ochieng.

Dumas tactician Carey Oketch said, “The tournament will help in the playoffs. We are in a tough pool but it’s better for us like that. It will gauge our readiness mentally.”

In the only ladies' match-up of the afternoon, KPA will face off against Equity Bank Hawks in what is being billed as a potential final.

“This competition is a true test of our skills, teamwork, and resilience. Going head-to-head with elite teams ignites a competitive fire within our players, pushing them to elevate their performance to new heights,” said Hawks’ coach Ben Oluoch. Saturday matches will be played both at the Complex and Nyayo National Stadium. Langata will host the semi-finals and finals on Sunday.
