Police in Bungoma are looking for a man who burnt his wife to death on Sunday night for delaying supper.
Onyango Ooko from Tens Star state is alleged to have thrown a paraffin stove at Rosemary and locked her in the house before fleeing.
Jael Tende, a neighbour, said the 34-year-old and his wife had a quarrel for almost half an hour before the incident.
She said Ooko came home drunk with some meat that he asked his wife to cook, but he ran out of patience, accusing Rosemary of taking too long to prepare the meal yet he was hungry.
"It was around 8pm at night when we heard the noise. We ran and found the house on fire and managed to break in. We took the woman to Khalaba hospital where she died while receiving treatment", Tende said.
The couple is said to have been married for seven years and have two children.
The children had gone to the neighbour's house with Rosemary's sister Isabella.
Residents and neighbours condemned the incident and asked Bungoma county commissioner Joshua Chepchieng to ensure the man is arrested and charged with murder.
Police have asked residents to give information to police that could lead to the arrest of the man.
Last year in Kanduyi a man almost killed his wife for not cooking him fish for supper.
