Murang'a Seal forward Elly Saenyi is confident the team can snatch all three points in their mid-week SportPesa Premium League clash against Sofapaka today at the St Sabastian Park.

‎Seal find themselves perched in 14th place, whereas Sofapaka are 17th with just a solitary point. ‎Their run-up to the new season has been a mixed bag of results, opening their campaign with a bitter 1-0 loss to Ulinzi Stars courtesy of Paul Okoth's late strike. ‎They, however, bounced back with a strong 2-0 win over APS Bomet at the Awendo Green Stadium before suffering a 3-1 drubbing to Bandari.
‎Saenyi believes Seal have what it takes to grab their second win of the 2025/26 season with a strong display against Batoto Ba Mungu. ‎"We will push ourselves and ensure we get all three points in our coming match," Saenyi said.
‎Saenyi joined Seal in August 2024 from four-time League champions Ulinzi Stars. ‎He made an instant impression, marking his debut season for Murang'a Seal with a thunderous strike in a 2-2 draw against record champions Gor Mahia last season.
‎But his promising start was derailed by injury, forcing him to spend much of the campaign on the sidelines. ‎After being sidelined for five months due to injury, Saenyi made his appearance during Seal's previous match against Bandari as a substitute. ‎"I have been out for like five months now due to injury."
‎"It was my first game and I came in as a substitute despite the results not being what we wanted," he noted.
‎In that encounter, Joe Waithira had fired Seal ahead in the seventh minute before Geoffrey Ojunga and Amza Mubarak struck in quick succession to hand Bandari the lead at the break. ‎Joseph Otii sealed the win for the hosts in the 77th minute.
‎Despite the setback, Saenyi insists there were encouraging signs in their performance. ‎"We lost the match, but there are a lot of positives we took from the match."
‎The forward also called on the fans to rally behind the team as they seek a morale-boosting victory. ‎"Our fans have faith in us, so we cannot let them down," he added.
‎Head coach Osborne Monday welcomed Saenyi’s return, saying it has added a fresh spark to Seal’s attacking play. ‎"He has been performing well in training, so we rewarded him with some game time."
‎"He has brought something different to the team," Monday said. Seal will be buoyed by having done the double over Sofapaka last season.
‎In the first leg, they secured a hard-fought 1-0 win through Jackson Macharia's spot kick. ‎The second leg saw them secure a 2-0 win through Ally Yusuf and Harun Mwale's strikes.
‎Sofapaka entered the tie with a winless run since they kicked off their season. Their matches have seen them draw 1-1 against AFC Leopards before suffering defeats to Gor Mahia (2-0) and Kakamega Homeboyz (1-0).
