Uhuru bowed in respect as the ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna performed the Way of the Cross as he showed his last respect to his former party leader.
4:00 pm: Senator Oburu Odinga arrives in Bondo to officially announce the death of Raila.
Sen Oburu Oginga: "We will give Raila a dignified send-off, which he deserves as a dignified son of this land. The programme will end with a burial ceremony at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, and then later on Raila will be buried next to our mum and dad...in a private burial (ceremony) which will be attended only by a few people."
3:59 pm: Baba's body is currently being prepared inside the VIP Lounge holding room at Kasarani. Embalming experts from Lee Funeral Home and pathologists present. This was to take place at Lee, but it wasn't possible. Also being done is a change of clothes and a new coffin. The process will take at least an hour.

11:28 am: The remains of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga have been redirected to the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, after massive crowds made it impossible for the planned transfer to proceed as scheduled.
Initial arrangements to move the body from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to Lee Funeral Home for final preparations before being taken to Parliament Buildings for public viewing were abandoned amid escalating crowd trouble.

11:23 am: Operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have been temporarily suspended following a security incident during the arrival of the remains of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
In a statement, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) said the suspension was prompted by a large number of mourners who gained access to restricted areas.
This, the authority said, forced authorities to temporarily close the airport to restore order and ensure safety.
10:48 am: President William Ruto will lead dignitaries in viewing the body of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
