
A high-profile delegation was assembled to manage the repatriation of Raila Odinga's body after he passed away in India on October 15, 2025, at the age of 80, while receiving medical treatment.
The team, organised for the journey was led by Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary. Reflecting the personal and official significance of the loss, the delegation included his wife, Mama Ida Odinga, who represented the family's presence.
Key government officials played a central role, notably Kipchumba Murkomen, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior, and Hassan Joho, the Cabinet Secretary for Mining, underscoring the state's involvement in the process.
Political leaders from the National Assembly were also part of the team: Kimani Ichung'wah, the Majority Leader, and Junet Mohamed, the Minority Leader, which highlighted the bipartisan unity following the passing of the long-serving politician.
A family member, Jaoko Oburu Odinga, completed the list, ensuring the return was handled with both national honor and personal care.
