Kenya’s gaming community is set for a nationwide spotlight with the launch of the Kenya Esports Series 2025, a competitive tour across five cities culminating in a grand finale on Jamhuri Day, December 12, in Nairobi.
Organised by Esports Kenya, the tour will visit Nakuru, Eldoret, Mombasa, Kisumu and Nairobi, giving players a chance to compete for titles and qualify for the national finals. Winners will earn spots to represent Kenya at international events, including the Global Esports Games.
The series will feature eight titles: eFootball Mobile, eFootball Console, EA FC 26, FC Mobile, Tekken 8, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Mobile Legends.
The journey begins with the Flamingo Series in Nakuru on October 4, followed by stops in Eldoret (October 18), Mombasa (November 1), Kisumu (November 15), and Nairobi (November 29) before the grand finale.
“This series is a turning point for grassroots esports. We’re bringing the game closer to communities and creating real opportunities for talent,” said Esports Kenya president Ronny Lusigi.
"This is a pivotal moment for Kenyan esports. It is keeping in line with our commitment as Esports Kenya that we shall go to the grassroots beyond the capital city. We are excited by the prospect of uncovering fresh and raw talents from across the country. In addition to the competition the series shall also involve capacity building in all the regions we visit which includes referees training and community engagement."
Players are eager to shine. Nakuru’s Kevin Njenga called it a “dream opportunity” to showcase his Tekken 8 skills, while Mombasa’s Fatma Said, a PUBG Mobile player, said the coast is ready to prove its talent.
“Esports isn’t just in Nairobi. This platform motivates us to train harder and perform,” she said.
With regional pride, national titles, and global representation at stake, the Kenya Esports Series is poised to elevate the country’s fast-growing gaming scene.
