Kisumu RFC’s 2025/26 Kenya Cup campaign has received a major boost after landing two sponsors.

On Tuesday evening, the club unveiled Homeland Itoya Events as the official shirt sponsor alongside Olendo, Orare, and Samba Advocates LLP as co-sponsors. Urban Radio were unveiled as the official media partner.

Homeland Itoya Events gave a sponsorship of Sh2 million, and Olendo, Orare, and Samba Advocates LLP added Sh1 million. Kisumu RFC will feature in the Kenya Cup for a third consecutive season.

Club chairman Gabriel Ouma described the sponsorship as a turning point for the team, which struggled to meet its operational obligations in the past two seasons.

Ouma, a Kisumu-based oncologist, said they are eager to upset the formbook and challenge for the Kenya Cup title.

“For any sports entity to thrive, it requires resources. For the last two years, honouring away matches was not easy. This partnership gives us a foundation to build a force that can destabilise the status quo and challenge for the Kenya Cup,” Ouma said.

He assured the sponsors of transparency and accountability, emphasising the funds would be used to grow the club and improve competitiveness.

“All forms of support will be accounted for. Feedback will come directly from the team, and the resources will be reinvested into the club to help us achieve our full potential,” he said.

The new leadership will transform the club from Kenya Cup league strugglers to title challengers.

“The community is ready, the region is ready, and our members are ready. Now it's about putting the right structures in place to take this club to the next level,” he said.

Club secretary Robert Wechesi said they will soon unveil a new technical bench and about 10 players in readiness for the 2025/26 season.

The Brave Hearts survived relegation after finishing ninth on the log with 17 points from 11 games — three wins and eight losses.
