The 2024/25 Kenya Hockey Union will start on June 15, secretary general Wycliffe Ongori has said.

Key among the requirements for the new season is the registration of clubs at the Registrar of Sports by June 14 or the provision of evidence of application.

"Clubs that have not registered with the Registrar of Sports have been given up to June 14 to either register or show evidence of having submitted their application for registration – exceptions being Universities and Kenya Police. Otherwise, they shall not take to the pitch for their match and therefore forfeit it," Ongori emphasised.

As City Park remains closed for renovations, the matches will be hosted at Impala Grounds, JKUAT, Dashmesh Stadium, Kenyatta University, Parklands Sports Club and the University of Nairobi (UoN).

"The fixtures shall be issued in due course," Ongori added.

He warned clubs who owe KHU dues should clear them before their opening match.

In addition to registration and venue updates, the KHU will release the final list of approved transfers by the end of the week. This will ensure all teams are adequately prepared and compliant as they head into the new season.

“With these preparations in place, the 2024 season promises to be a thrilling showcase of hockey talent and competition, as teams vie for supremacy in the league,” he concluded.
