Football Kenya Federation presidential candidate Twaha Mbarak wants a normalisation committee established to run football in the country.

Mbarak's comments come in the wake of a recent threat by the world football governing body, Fifa, to ban Kenya over third-party interference.

"FIFA should appoint a normalisation committee which will ensure compliance, fill the vacuum, spearhead the preparation for CHAN and AFCON in conjunction with the government, and eventually organises a free and fair election," Mbarak remarked.

Mbarak who currently serves as vice-chairman of Kenyan Premier League side, Bandari.

He called upon the Nick Mwendwa-led administration to align its constitution with the Sports Act 2013 to avoid unnecessary trouble.

“Rigidity and chest-thumping have continuously brought confusion to Kenyan football," he said.

He lashed out at FKF for allegedly misleading FIFA regarding the realities on the ground.
