Kenya Power has announced the resumption of prepaid electricity tokens services.

This is after Kenyans experienced challenges buying the tokens on Thursday morning.

In a statement on Tuesday, Kenya Power said the token system experienced a hitch, that has since been resolved.

"We are happy to inform you that the prepaid system hitch has been resolved and customers can now purchase electricity tokens," the statement read.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused." 

The prepaid system is used to purchase electricity tokens.

In an earlier update, Kenya had said they were looking into the matter.

"We are experiencing a hitch on the prepaid system which is affecting the generation of electricity tokens," the notice read.

Kenya Power however said that they are working to restore normalcy within the shortest time possible.
