Posta Rangers head coach John Kamau lavished praises on his charges after they resoundingly sprang back onto the summit of the Kenyan Premier League table on Sunday.
The Nairobi-based mailmen wrung out a narrow 1-0 win to upset newbies Murang'a Seal at home in a scintillating Round Four encounter at St. Sebastian Park in Murang'a. The lone goal was scored by Patrick Otieno in the 59th minute.
Kamau said he is satisfied with the effort they have displayed in the campaign thus far, adding that he is confident of their title prospects this season.
"We are doing great. Three wins in four games and a draw is no mean achievement and the boys certainly need a pat on the back for such an amazing performance," Kamau said.
"We displayed a good game today and we could have celebrated a huge win if we had made good use of the chances we created. We need to do a lot more in front of the opponent's goal," Kamau remarked.
He urged his charges to step on the gas peddle and keep their title hopes alive.
"This was one of our toughest matches thus far, I must say. It means we must take each game seriously because it appears even the newly promoted teams are forces to reckon with," Kamau added.
Murang'a Seal head coach Gabriel 'Kingi' Njoroge expressed disappointment at their second consecutive loss this season.
"We started the season well with two back-to-back wins but it appears we are now losing it. I believe we have noted the areas we need to work on," Njoroge said.
Njoroge said they would work hard to address their weaknesses in the squad before their next match.
"We are traveling to Bungoma next weekend to face Nzoia Sugar at Sudi stadium and, hopefully, we shall be able to claim all the three points to put ourselves in a strategic position," he added.
The win took Posta Rangers to the apex of the log, where they sit pretty with 10 points, two more than defending champions Gor Mahia.
Gor's campaign suffered a minor setback after they squandered a first-half lead to settle for a one-all draw against Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium.
Ulinzi Stars fought tooth and nail to register their first win in four matches against Sofapaka at the Ulinzi Complex in Nairobi.
Nairobi City Stars stunned Nzoia Sugar 2-1 at the Ruaraka grounds while KCB and Bandari played out a barren draw at Moi Stadium, Kasarani.
